What would be better if we consider how fast AI has been developing? - n9wiff - 12-02-2025

Computer science or Economics/Finance

Does anyone have any insider insight on this?

cs and it's a no contest

there's no question to which "economics/finance" would be the right answer

Sad

I'll need to cure my technological illiteracy then

just train your brain to hear "a female HR employee" when someone mentions "economics/finance" to you

Everyone from my HS who's doing CS are like the ultra unbearable ones

And I'd imagine finance would be filled with exclusively a bunch of ProperPlebians

Maybe I'll do "Fintech" which is somewhat of an amalgamation of both fields ( slightly more geared to the CS side. )

Not sure, a lot of research still needs to be done.

i assumed you are asking about the perspectives of those professions. I never said CStards were normal human beings on average

and pp is about as financially literate and prospective as towncel, no idea why you are mentioning him here

Well the environment of the the fields must be considered

Example is if I was to take CS, there are many remote work opportunities

But for finance I would undoubtedly have to move to the capital or even Singapore

+ I am not intelligent enough for STEM careers ( to make meaningful progress in )

Also pp's character in burnt in my mind when I think of any white collar worker for some reason.

i can't know what the situation is like in malaysia

regarding the bolded part, that's why i gave up on math. i was high iq enough to realize i'm capped at teaching kids basic algebra early enough, so i went with law, which is like math for retards and more about being likeable than about being some kind of a savant

GET REAL
Write down bussinesses you could want to create in an order.
Go down the list, what aspects of it AI/Robotics can automate 5 years from now.
Then give it a score for how much AI can increase the productivity.
Find the sweet spot between how much you want to do it and how much AI/Robotics would help you with it.

sounds good, means jack shit in terms of reliability

do you really think the average person/kid is capable of assessing, for example, "what aspects of it AI/Robotics can automate 5 years from now" and even "give it a score ..."?

and what we are talking about here isn't even AI, it's mere data spewing algorithms

the average person (by this i mean 99% of people) genuinely thinks/thought (depending on how informed they are) arts are the one domain of human ability that is untouchable by "AI".

reality? the first group of people whose entire "careers" and life work got obliterated by the first, most basic LLM models released, resulting with crying and protesting of the said imbeciles. probably the most embarrassing moment in the history of the species. muh X is what differentiates us from other animals, lmao.

^ btw, i m not attacking you, just saying predicting this stuff is impossible

No it is easy, only actual challenge is finding bussinesses you can genuinely care about
then even LLMs can tell you that in a 5 years span barbershops may not be automated much meanwhile anything to do with logistics will. You don't have to be %100 right, you just need to go for it.

Good idea tbh, need to see how it plays out in practice

I understand that. When I say AI I think of slave labour. And even if it doesn't become reality he would have picked a job he'd care about with this decision system.
