I’m a lawyer and I’ll advise against this industry. Your personal life, mental health, physical health, finances, everything will get fucked. By the time you make enough money to make up for your sacrifice, you’ll either be dead, riddled with health issues, or too burnt out to care about whatever money you have. I’ve spent 24 hours straight in my office, and on most days including the weekends, I’ve worked like a mule. I didn’t see my ailing mother for 8 months straight because the garbage people of this industry don’t even have the decency to accept your time off application for grace issues. My former boss literally used to sue his ex-employees for the smallest issues. He took money from our ex-colleague while the ex-colleague’s wife had cancer and he’d taken “too much time off”. Like, you can’t even simply escape a job. They come after you and drain you of your remaining money, peace and happiness. I can’t advice you on what to do, but definitely don’t do law.
