my 2 cents:
1. actually capable scientists are not just not interested in "popularizing science" - engaging in that activity is the biggest failo you can have within the academy and a telltale sign that you are a garbage scientist and that you should be eternally grateful to god for even being capable of graduating. no one within the academy thinks "i love this guy, he is doing god's work", which is perfectly understandable - his entire work (applies to all "science popularizers") breaks down to leeching off of actual scientists' accomplishments
1. his already mid at best ability to explain science to laymen aside, his attempts at making political points, being witty and providing coherent social critique are fucking abysmal
1. regarding your "imagine if he didnt exist, we would legit think blacks are actual monkeys" statement: it's the opposite, he is a walking (no pun intended, and i mean it; i have no intention of punning by using this word) proof niggers are monkeys
2. if there was a white "scientist" saying the bullshit nigger degrasse tyson is saying, he would be laughed at for being a fucking retard. someone should tell people (was gonna say white people, but that would be a pleonasm) who are praising him that they are literally exposing themselves as racists by doing so.

even tho this video is out of context, it still doesn't say anything negative about him. he didnt say neanderthals are retarded he said cuz whites thought they are retarded and it turned out they are more neanderthal than we are.

I still don't understand why we should hate him? like why? there is millions of retards out there, why can't we like him he at least tells some "did you know" wow things once in a while. it's better than nothing
