Movie thread? - superiorpisspot234 - 09-10-2024

Is there no existing 'movie megathread' on this site?
Anyway talk about movies u watched recently, ones you consider the greatest of all time, favourites, recommendations
etc.
I recently rewatched arrival, eyes wide shut, and Whiplash recently (all amazing). Although tbh only EWS really counts as a rewatch, the other 2 movies i didn't watch properly the first time around; wasnt trying to immerse myself tho they're very captivating movies as is. EWS was just as scary and immsersive as my first experience was. This time i paid attention to the visual details through the color and whatnot, Kubrick often leaves. Brutal how he (((died))) shortly after making it. And 20 mins of footage was deleted apparently.

i'm just not that into music, so movies revolving around it are a hard pass to me. i dont doubt the movie is great

I mean i dont think everyone that loves this movie loves music just as much. Ive never listened to jazz music much outside of when i played the fallout games in which it sometimes plays on the radio.

Because though music is part of the theme, it's not the main focus of the movie's writing

I also held it off for a long time but watched it on a whim while being bored. Did not regret, a rich and beautiful story.

it's as much about music as titanic is about the ocean. it's the canvas
