@pp - prince of shitskins - 06-09-2024 Universal healthcare, yay or nay? RE: @pp - MysteriousWeeb420 - 06-09-2024 Nay Public healthcare causes death, poverty and oppression. Healthcare workers cannot realistically be paid a fair wage for their labor by the government, so the service will be perpetually understaffed and the workers will end up frustrated and negligent, resulting in avoidable deaths. In order to fund the service, taxes will have to be extremely high, stifling investment and growth. We are effectively redistributing resources from the most productive members of society to the least productive, which fucks everyone over. Plagued by moral hazard - if.you don't suffer the financial consequences of not looking after yourself,.you are far less.inclined to do so. In order to avoid this pitfall the government.will be forced to strip away freedoms from everyone e.g. sugar taxes, banning alcohol/cigarettes In summary: socialism always bad because it breaks basic incentive structures of society RE: @pp - prince of shitskins - 06-09-2024 (06-09-2024, 01:43 AM)MysteriousWeeb420 Wrote: Nay Agree 100% All socialism does is disincentive people to help each other The script goes like "I'm sick and homeless" and the inevitable response is "you live in a welfare utopia, just ask the state for help" and the help you get from the state is absolutely worthless RE: @pp - Daily Flosser - 06-09-2024 i'd support universal healthcare system and coverage for children kids and younger people should always be first priority otherwise no. and i'm against providing healthcare for elderly in general. we don't need an aging population. they have less time to live, their quality of life sucks, and value to society is near zero -- so why waste resources on them? and they fucking smell RE: @pp - Daily Flosser - 06-09-2024 what's the point of expanding lifespan beyond what's naturally designed, unless you're able to stop the aging process altogether. its like buying an old horse a new saddle makes no sense that society tries to keep a 80-90 year old with end-stage dementia alive through all means einstein was right when he said "it is tasteless to prolong life artificially. i have done my share, it is time to go. i will do it elegantly." |
