A lake is like a big, round bathtub, but it’s outside and full of water! You can find lakes in nature, surrounded by trees, plants, and sometimes even mountains. People go to lakes to swim, fish, or just relax by the water. The water stays inside the lake, just like water in a bathtub, but it's much bigger and there’s no drain! Ducks and fish often live in lakes too, so it's like their home

If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself
