i recently realised/found out that the "isolated tribe" narrative is bs in >99% of cases. amazonian tribes exist in massive interconnected networks: so even if they havent seen a "civilised" person, they are probs aware of their existence. sort of like how australian aboriginal tribes attained european axeheads before ever meeting a european, due to tribal trade networks

also, my belief is that these tribes dont get as impressed with such things as we would expect. think the feeling of "awe and wonder" is heavily influenced by preconceived beliefs... so, for example, a westerner (who thought the sky is made of gas and leads to space, or whatever the narrative is) finds that it is actually a solid wall: he's filled with pure amazement, as his previous beleifs were proved incorrect. however, a tribesman may have no belief in the world outside his tribe, and so simply accepts the outside world as it is
