yeah, honestly i cant think of anything more lonely, boring, and unfulfilling than taking drugs by yourself while trying to create poetry that other people won't cringe at. would probably just cause pp to have an existential crisis and wind up in gay sex skypē group

You can be stiff and fairly unimaginative and write poetry. It can be treated as a problem solving exercise.
Also, if you make a habit of regularly reading poetry, then you will improve your ability to think in rhyme and meter (so that it becomes effortless), which increase your ability to enter flowstate once you get an idea that you'd like to write down.
