Paul the Apostle actually says that being single is ultimately better - Altruist - 26-02-2024

In the Bible, to where he writes a letter to the Corinthians he says—  But I say to the unmarried and to the widows, [that as a practical matter] it is good if they remain [single and entirely devoted to the Lord] as I am. 9 But if they do not have [sufficient] self-control, they should marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion

In sum, marriage is primarily a union where man and a woman fulfill each others conjugal rights. It’s a way to remain righteous with God by serving as an outlet for peoples sexual needs to be met. He later mentions the fate of the sexually immoral.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10: “Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”

The funniest thing is that most marriages are sexless because women use it as a tool of manipulation because they’re not physically attracted to their beta male husbands. They’re only attracted to their relative stability. Tragic

Today I learned I'm going to heaven for not giving in to my ... earthly desires (I'm assuming masturbation is not a sin here)

The bar sure was set low

I wish I'll be able to remember this during the next social event I'm forced to aprtake in

Traditional Christian response would be that you've committed sexual immorality by looking at a woman with lust:

"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5:28)

Furthermore, no Christian would claim that someone enters heaven solely because they died without having sex.

Always funny when people use those verses in 1 Cor 6 as proof that certain kinds of people are doomed to hell. They assume that the "kingdom of God" must mean a future heaven, when the Bible makes claims to the contrary:

Quote:For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Romans 14:17

Quote:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Luke 17:20-21

But that doesn't fit our theology and can't be used to scare/control people, so we'll continue to pretend that it's referring to heaven Eyeroll

That is dumb as hell and very 1984

Always funny when people like Honest comment on the Bible as “biblical and historical experts” without having first read or even knowing the existence of the book “Who rewrote the Bible?” by Dr. Lorraine Day (pbuh)

This is the analogy:

There is a very poorly re-written (and intentionally bastardized) version of an original film which is no longer archived, nowhere to be found

Smug, self-assured nerds online and irl bicker over whose interpretation of the false/remade version is the correct one, meanwhile the original film remains undiscussed/unknown

Maybe there's a point that you're missing?

Maybe there are brain cells that you’re missing? Nvm, just checked. 0/0, no deviations from last time.

@AlbanianLegend1994 There's no reason to be upset. You're only hurting yourself.

You’re taking the higher ground

So wise so mature x

Also not upset, just challenging you to do something that you’re incapable of

Based on the few posts of yours I’ve ever read (from the time I joined) I can tell you what your complexes, traumas and worldviews are. So easy to create an archetype of you, there is no enigma of intrigue anywhere, just a really boring and predictable construct overall

I should rephrase it, not “create” an archetype out of you because you’re a dime-a-dozen

Rather, place you in a pre-existing neatly packaged one

You’re such a paradigm shifter, wow x
