Barbershops should be male-only spaces - AlbanianLegend1994 - 18-02-2024 For financial reasons, the barber I go to had to turn his place into a shared space thing with a female hairdresser and it’s so fucking annoying because there’s always an annoying bitch next to me or who is hovering near me that tries to strike a conversation with the barber, me or both. “I still do Christmas stockings for my children and they’re in their 40s!” “Don’t you love coffee? I’m a three times per day gal myself.” Yesterday there was this girl who looked to be in her late 20s getting her haircut and she was gigaprojecting all her insecurities in real time, e.g. “I don’t think men understand what anxiety is like. I went to my boyfriend the other day and was telling him how stressed out I was and asked him how he deals with anxiety and he said, “I just don’t think about it.”” Then the hairdresser looked at the barber and me and tried to involve us in the conversation and get our take on whether “men experience anxiety.” The girl just kept nonstop mentioning mental health whatever opportunity she got, e.g. “omg I love this celebrity and I just admire how she’s able to have so many breakups and not have to go to a therapist afterwards to get over that trauma…” But anyway the absolute worst part is that my barber is a really nice guy, my age, chill and we used to like talking like bros but now I have to turn all my answers lukewarm and non-douchey. Like you think I’m going to tell you in depth about all the degen stuff I did over the weekend, no, my answer is now going to turn into “we went out, it was alright.” RE: Barbershops should be male-only spaces - Altruist - 18-02-2024 Quote:Don’t you love coffee? RE: Barbershops should be male-only spaces - PinkFatso - 18-02-2024 I go maybe like once in a year or two years for a buzzcut then just let it grow rotter style, last I went the male/female areas were separate and men tend to keep their mouths shut (which I really appreciate) so I'm just left with myself staring at the mirror for the duration of it RE: Barbershops should be male-only spaces - slop slinger - 18-02-2024 i only go to salons. barbers don't know how to do anything involving hair longer than 12cm. and i need to get perms anyway.
