Mimetic contrarianism - Honest - 09-02-2024

Humans are mimetic, in that they mirror one another's behaviour - monkey see, monkey do.
However, some humans "copy" by mirroring the opposite of others - these people are the natural born contrarians.
It is not a choice - in the same way that normoids don't choose to be normoid, contrarians don't choose to be contrarians.

For example, I can't listen to music that has over a certain number of views on YouTube

And while we're on the subject of music, does anyone else get serious ZOGbot vibes from spotify? I involuntarily lose a bit of respect (just a little bit, don't worry) for someone when I find out that they use spotify.

Do you think that sociopaths have a choice and free will?

Not sure how you define free will

Philosophically we are free beings who can act as free agents but in the "real", solid world there is no true freedom, mostly a casual chain of events.

If non-rational forces are "forcing" us to think certain thoughts and act on them than that would deny most of our free will claims.

hate to break it to you, but there's nothing deeper to this than your need to compensate for your perpetual-loserdom-induced trauma, which (the need) manifests in an extremely normtard-like way, so accordingly to your just as normtard-like cognitive capacity and originality

not even discrepant with your main point in this thread, just saying

You could be onto something big here

RE: Mimetic contrarianism - Altruist - 09-02-2024

your title you think is original and semantically resonant is just an oxymoron vulgaris, btw

there are multiple possible/more or less adequate word choices to describe "copying by mirroring the opposite" (what a pretentious failure of an expression, specially coming from a native speaker), and mimetic is not among them

do you guys not have access to google in northern ireland?
