It was a cold, rainy night in the city as my pet stumbled out of the bar, his mind cloudy with alcohol and his body weighed down by the extra pounds he carried. He had always been a bit of a gypsy, never quite fitting in anywhere, but he had found his calling as a paralegal. However, his dreams of becoming a super genius lawyer had never come to fruition and now, at over 30 years old, he was washed up and stuck in a dead-end job.

As he walked down the empty streets, his thoughts were consumed by his latest obsession - appetite suppressor medication. He had been taking it for a few months now, desperate to lose the weight that had been holding him back. But the side effects were taking a toll on his already fragile mind.

As he approached his apartment building, he knew he was in for another argument with his wife, Slop. She was a half German, one-fifth British philosophy professor, and aristocrat who hailed from Paris. In many ways, she was the female version of the infamous Marquis de Sade, with her sharp wit and provocative opinions.

But tonight's argument was different. It was about something that had been gnawing at my pet's mind for weeks - whether Jews and Black people were truly human or not.

As he stumbled into their apartment, he found Slop sitting in their living room, a glass of wine in hand and a book on her lap. She looked up at him with a sly smile, knowing what was about to come.

'So, my dear husband, have you finally come to your senses and realized that all humans are equal?' she asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

my pet scoffed and stumbled towards the couch, plopping down heavily beside her. 'Don't be ridiculous, Slop. You know my stance on this. Jews and niggers are not human. They are inferior beings.'

Slop rolled her eyes and took a sip of her wine. 'And what makes you think that? Because they look different from you? Because they don't fit into your narrow definition of what a human should be?'

my pet's face turned red with anger. 'It's not about looks, it's about intelligence. And let's face it, they just don't have it. They are nothing but a burden on society.'

Slop closed her book and fixed him with a stern look. 'You are drunk and on medication, my pet. You are not in your right mind. I suggest you sleep it off and we can discuss this tomorrow when you are sober.'

But my pet was not one to back down from an argument, especially one that he felt so passionately about. He continued to argue his point, his words slurring and his thoughts incoherent.

The argument went on for hours, with both of them refusing to back down. Finally, Slop had had enough and with a huff, she stormed off to bed, leaving my pet alone in the living room.

As he sat there, alone and drunk, he couldn't help but wonder if Slop was right. Was he just spouting hate and ignorance because of his own insecurities? Was he truly a genius in the making, or just a washed-up paralegal with delusions of grandeur?

The next morning, as he woke up with a pounding headache, he realized that the argument with Slop had been pointless. It didn't matter if Jews and Black people were human or not. What mattered was how he treated others and the type of person he was.

He made a promise to himself to be a better person, to let go of his prejudices and to truly embrace the idea of equality. And as he looked over at Slop, still sleeping peacefully beside him, he knew that he was lucky to have such a strong, intelligent and compassionate wife.

From that day on, my pet and Slop never argued about the topic again. They had both learned a valuable lesson - that true intelligence lies in acceptance and understanding, not in hate and discrimination. And together, they continued to live their lives as the eccentric, gypsy paralegal and the Sade Marquis-like philosophy professor, united in their love and their belief in equality for all.
