it's an array of values
lets say we have a beam which is
10m long, 1m wide, 2m tall
length is X, width is Y, height is Z
so if we add those values into a matrix it would be A= [10,1,2]

basically a way to arrange data in a 2d array, order of m rows and n columns
and how u'd index the data is by mth row and nth column.

Just use Laplace expansion to calculate the determinant of an nxn matrix bro
