Yeah I time travel oftentimes
Which means I select a time I'm interested in (example: April 5, 1995) and then reconstruct how it was.
It helps that I'm living in the same pad as back then

its crazy to realize that back then if people wanted to learn something, they'd have to go to the library and choose 5 different books and try to understand the concept and if they couldnt understand something, write to a proffessor or a teacher and then get a reply back in 1 month to understand it
meanwhile i ask chatgpt and i have a giga crystal clear answer in 1 second.

Consider this: if you could travel into the past, you could be driving a car that ran over one of your ancestors before he/she had reproduced, and thus you would never have existed, so could not have travelled into the past to kill that ancestor.

I know this is satire (I chuckled a bit) but, one side of my family, let's say they are isolated Germanic farmers, and eh, as a kid I'd show them cellphones, tablets and so on, and their reaction (or lack of thereof) of disinterest is still printed in my memory. nowadays my cousins already catched on for sure, but yeah irl this thread would never play out the way you imagine, since many people back then dreamed of 'flying cars' (stupid idea imo) or 'cure of cancer' and yet nothing of the sort, so the concepts were already familiar and generic at that point (sci-fi has always been huge.)
