Ever think about how you feel when you watch a baby just do what it wants?
the way it just crawls if it wants to, the way it just fiddles with objects with curiosity?
And notice the good feeling you get from watching someone do whatever they want? whatever they desire? their primal hearts' desires?
Man Hunt does exactly that.
Its been over a month since I watched Man Hunt (1941) and the central idea of it -- giving into ur primal desires and being selfish, reflect and ripple to u so much every single day.
the way the idea was handled effortlessly with such ease and such depth is awe dropping to me, the character is not some saint nor does he do anything remotely sensible in the whole movie exceptin one or two instances. yet one somehow still manages to want to root for him just because he listens to himself and does what he wants.
it is also a very subjective movie and acknowledges hypocrisies and inconsistencies of all characters throughout -- the lead wanting to kill hitler or the nazis trying to hunt him down. both actions are justified but at what cost -- another question this movie brings up.
u dont want to date a girl who has done a lot for u. both are justified reasons -- she has done a lot for u and remands some love from u and at the same time, its ur choice, u r not into her.
both justified reasons but both of them boil down to selfishness -- which is exactly what mankind is, selfish.
this movie ponders and reflects in every day of my life and i urge u to watch it too.

the way fritz lang directs all his movies with such depth that our thoughts keep pondering about it is inspiring and mindblowing and i feel inspired by him.
