Music is IMPOSSIBLE - 10khitman - 09-03-2023 Art will literally eat your soul. This is why sciences are so much easier than art. You search for a theory and you either get it or you don't. You either fail or you don't. You either get closer to understanding or you don't. Music is so ineffably complex that you can chase perfection in a single minute long prelude for your entire life. A most simple piece on a most simple instrument and I spend every ounce of my mind trying to perfect it and every new recording I make the self loathing in my heart grows stronger. How does Vladimir Horowitz do it? I genuinely cannot comprehend that level of genius. It doesn't make sense to me. Everyone else makes sense to me. I can understand the person who was Nikola Tesla. He was transcendental but he makes sense to me as a human. Artistry on the level of Horowitz however, does not make sense to me even a small bit. It's incomprehensible to achieve what he did in a single life time. Art is literally impossible its way too complex for my limited mind. Just like Tesla "just had it" and Sidis "just had it". But, what I mean is I understand how a human brain can be born with the level of intelligence which Tesla or Sidis had. I can imagine how they have that capacity for scientific thought. I don't however understand how Horowitz was born with that level of intelligence, like its beyond what I would expect a human mind to be capable of. He was relatively much smarter than anyone else I know of in history. (10-03-2023, 01:56 AM)søren Wrote: some people have high digit span capacity.
