Why are Gen Z cels so obsessed with being 90s kids? - AlbanianLegend1994 - 03-03-2023

It was mostly a thing in the early 2010s, but it's persisted a decade later so it's like, what is this even about?
Like I legit saw a girl with a shirt "born in 1998, I'm a 90s kid" at a theme park once.

Uh no? Lol

Also nowadays all Gen Z cels just try to mimic fashion trends from the 90s, are into all things 'retro' etc

It's funny cuz I was talking to a girl born in 1989 (I was born late 1990) and she goes to me "we're not even true 90s kids, lol, we weren't even self-aware for most of the early 90s").

Yet these 1998-1999cels think they can call themselves 90s kids

never seen this

but people always feel like the younger generations are more cringe/uncool/immature in general

I can't help but feel the same way about 00s born people at my uni

btw this is a reoccuring pattern in your posts

disdain towards younger people (coping mechanism)

the other day you said lookism from 2017 and on was garbage

which is untrue, it was statistic-wise the best version of lookism

I can visit back older posts, if anything you are less objective because you are emotionally attached to that era

Maybe you are coping because you weren't relevant/active later on

Bro I was super relevant even later  Blush
I think 2017 is the year I got runner up on the Lookism member of the year thread

Common pattern is me getting runner up on all of these (happened on Bookism too) only cuz I don't bother voting for myself on other alts like the other person does

Like I know so many posters that joined really late that glorify me on discord lmfao. Like I joined a discord channel not too long ago and searched '666' and saw so many late era posters (who are like 20-22 years old) talking about how 666 was a one in a million person, the best poster ever etc

Sorry for being egotistical, I've been more humble lately but this triggered me

there's vaporwave and synthwave. in terms of 'fashion' then I am not sure. it's more common to see goths than it's for me to see people who resemble the goofy aesthetics of the 90s. and 'goths' are not fixated to epochs I think

bro I must have missed that

I always assumed you were resting on past glory on lookism

and yes I agree, I've even seen people on the most random reddit subs talk about "666 from lookism" but I snubbed that as a coincidence

It's true that you are a luminous hypergiant megastar with a big ass planetary system orbiting around you, but I still can not agree with your take about early lookism being better, sorry nigga

noticed this too

zoomer girls legit collect cds now

i always figured it was as simple as the fact that when we were little kids 90s things were cool, what older 90s kids had

and when we were 8-13 90s kids were slaying and drinking

so wanting to be cool older brother/sister

combine that with pre-internet/old internet nostalgia

Yeah that happens with all generations to an extent (looking up to those who were a bit older than us)

What is the cutoff you would say? Like when does it get boomer tier for zoomers? Early 1990s? Like is someone born in 1990 a boomer or is it cool cuz they got to experience most of the 90s while being self-aware

Autistic question and speculation ik
