you have no choice when that's the least pathetic thing you could do. also there is video games and online video games, huge difference.
i feel like shit when playing solo games, it's literal waste of time.

if you think about it, anything that is unproductive that you do alone is pathetic. even if you are on an airplane or something it's better to read a textbook or draw or something instead of watch movies on the screen, but hey it's the culture we live in were people put in millions of dollars into making films to make others stay down by wasting their time.
