i'm a social misfit, not an outcast by choice (which is probably most of you). my emotions aren't really there to begin with. fundamentally different basic values. i enjoy people's company, but i still feel a void and unable to relate with anyone on a deeper level. and the thing is i don't even know what i'm looking for. recently ive been thinking that, although this loneliness/alienation sucks, it offers a novel experience that has only very rarely occurred in preceding periods of history. maybe sounds pretty gay and probably doesnt offer much solace, but whatever...
there was a strange, 'magical' sort of feeling during the time my brother and my friends were away at uni, and i was by myself for weeks at a time
that being said, meeting with friends is one of the most enjoyable things in life. having a large tight-knit family/community is a great joy that we're deprived of in modern society
